Hello all!
Welcome to the blog and website for Change for Change! We are a few days away from launching our fundraiser and our team is busy pulling together all the final components.
For those of you who are not familiar with Change for Change, here's a peek at who we are, what we're doing, for who and why:
First off, this fundraiser supplies the easiest and most convenient way to donate and give back to your community - through donating that jar of coins you have stashed away in your closet, drawer or nightstand!
This year our goal is to raise 6000 lbs. in spare change, equaling approximately $10,000. This fundraising drive will take place from January 17 - February 24, 2011. All proceeds will be going to Covenant House BC. On the last day of the event, there will be a grand weigh-in party at a special location, to be announced!
We are also proud to announce that Change for Change will be running on a national level this year. We are reaching out and bringing awareness to youth across Canada with the help of Juno nominated Canadian rock band, Marianas Trench.
Locally, we are committed to having 50 participating location hubs in our community; including schools, local businesses and general public. These hubs will be responsible for raising funds in their establishment with the help of their staff, as well as collecting donations from the community.
